Looking for a weekend getaway that’s full of charm, flavor, and fun? The culture, delicious food scene, and modern attractions in Kansas City, Missouri, will surely deliver. As local photographer Annie Lui shares about weekend activities in Kansas City, “One of my favorite things to do when I have a free weekend is to spend a day out and about downtown. From the WWI museum (a great spot to see the KC skyline) and Union Station (beautiful interior architecture), you can hop on a free tram up to the River Market for a Saturday farmers market in the summer.

Visit some antique stores along the way, then head down to the free Nelson Atkins Art Museum to cool off before doing some shopping in the Country Club Plaza. Enjoy an evening picnic at one of the many beautiful parks in the city: I highly recommend Loose Park. End the night at the Power and Light district with a couple of drinks.” As you can see there is lots to do in Kansas City, luckily we have asked local experts for their top suggestions to make your weekend planning go smoothly.
