Wayfair Unveils West Elm Inspired Collection

In 2019, Wayfair launched Greyleigh, a line inspired by luxury favorite Restoration Hardware. The brand continued in the same tradition in 2020, creating another line with a similar idea in mind called Foundstone. Inspired by popular retailer West Elm, it has a glam meets mid century modern aesthetic. 

The online retailer, which is perhaps best known for having a very large selection of furniture, décor and items for every room in the home, didn’t skimp on choices for the Foundstone line. There are more than 2500 different pieces to choose from in every single category from living room to kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom as well as options for outdoor space. 

There are also a variety of accessories and accents from art to wallpaper and lots of options for lighting including flush mounts, sconces, chandeliers, pendants and lamps.  

Much like the brand that inspired it, Foundstone doesn’t have one specific aesthetic. The line offers a variety of mix and match looks, from rustic pieces made from materials including distressed wood and metal, to more glamorous statement pieces with soft textures such as velvet and thoughtful touches like gold trim.

However, it’s important to understand that Foundstone isn’t an exact copy or “knock-off,” of West Elm. But, the aesthetic is so truly spot on that it allows for mixing and matching from both the brands and to complement an existing vignette. It’s also very budget-friendly. According to Wayfair, the prices range somewhere between 30-70% less than West Elm. 

So far, Foundstone has been incredibly well-received. Wayfair shares that some of the more popular categories to date include lighting, sofas, coffee tables and rugs. Here are a few of the most noteworthy pieces. 

Parocela 2 Drawer Nightstand

This mid century modern style nightstand could easily be confused for West Elm. Again, it’s not a knock-off, but it’s fair to call it a dead ringer. The mahogany wood veneers also look vintage. But with two drawers, it’s definitely made with today’s storage needs in mind. 

Derry Left Hand Facing Sectional

This glam sectional couldn’t be more on-trend right now. With soft velvet upholstery, six different colors are available including blush, sapphire, emerald, olive and light grey. At a current price that’s approximately $700, it’s a piece that’s equally stylish and practical. 

Eric Table Lamp

One of the most popular items from Foundstone, the Eric Table Lamp couldn’t be a better deal. The brass base pops against the minimalist white linen shade. This accent can work with essentially any style home from traditional to contemporary and modern on top of a side table, desk or even a nightstand.

Nelly 12 Light Sputnik Sphere Chandelier

Bold statement lighting fixtures have become a staple in recent years. The Nelly just really stands out. Perfect for a dining room or even a foyer, this hardwired piece comes in black, gold and satin gold finishes. 

Lexy Platform Bed

Sleep in style. This chic herringbone solid acacia wood bed features splayed legs that integrate a mid century modern touch into this contemporary piece. The Lexy collection also includes a five-drawer dresser, six-door double dresser and nightstand to complete the look.
