An Atlanta estate once owned by media mogul Tyler Perry has sold for a record-setting $15 million. The sale of 4110 Paces Ferry Road is noteworthy as the first and second most expensive residential home sale in Atlanta, according to listing agent Chase Mizell of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty.
Perry bought the French Provincial mansion in 2007 for $9 million and invested millions into improving it, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. When Perry sold the home in April 2016 for $17.5 million, with Mizell brokering the transaction, it was the highest sale on record for the Atlanta area.
In 2011, Forbes listed Perry as the highest-paid man in entertainment, earning $130 million between May 2010 and May 2011. The creator of the Madea film franchise is a multitalented screenwriter, director, playwright and actor.
The estate’s owner listed the property for sale in June 2019 for $25 million and lowered the price in January to $21 million.
Encompassing 17 acres bordering the Chattahoochee River, the gated estate with a nearly 35,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom mansion includes an infinity-edge swimming pool, spa, lighted tennis court, fully equipped gym, home theater, indoor resistance pool, wine cellar, entire estate generator, guard house, caretakers suite and advanced security system. The property has a separate guest house. Mizell represented the seller in the transaction.
Marketed as “Atlanta’s Most Spectacular Gated Estate,” the carefully curated collection of photography, videography and marketing materials customized for the property resulted in local, national and international marketing exposure.
A video of the estate played an important role in the marketing plan, counting nearly 3.4 million views on the Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, Sotheby’s International Realty and VSI Group YouTube channels alone – not to mention countless other sites that posted the video for real estate devotees. The nearly five-minute video transports viewers to the sprawling estate, highlighting its remarkable features.
