After nearly four years of construction, GID has completed their final contribution to the luxurious Waterline Square residential development. Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan overlooking the Hudson River, the complex features three residential, 34- to 38- story towers. Connecting the three buildings is is the Waterline Club, a 100,000 square-foot amenities center complete with a fitness area, pools and hot tubs, an indoor playground for kids, artistic studios dedicated to photography, painting, and music, and much more.
Designed by the award-winning architecture and design firm Rockwell Group, the new club contributes to the magnificent lifestyle at the core of the Waterline residential experience.
Sports and Fitness
There is a wide variety of exercise options inside the Waterline Club. In fact, the club is the first of its kind in New York City to offer an indoor skate park and a regulation-size indoor tennis court. Additionally, club members will have access to a full-size basketball court, indoor soccer field, and squash court. There is also a 30-foot rock climbing wall, a bowling alley, and a golf simulator.
Alongside the impressive sports center is a state-of-the-art fitness center and studios fully dedicated to boxing/MMA, Pilates, and yoga.
Swim and Spa
After an intense boxing session or a pick-up basketball game, members can relax at the club’s swim and spa area. Boasting a 25-meter saltwater pool, hot tubs, steam rooms, and infrared saunas, there is no shortage of ways to decompress after a long-day’s work. If none of that is enough to ease your stress, the club also includes massage treatment rooms and salon areas of manicures, pedicures and hair styling.
Creative Suites
Members are encouraged to embrace their creative hobbies at the Waterline Club. There are three rooms in the creative sweet, each dedicated to a different artistic endeavor. There is an art studio for painting and drawing, a music and recording studio, a video-photography studio with audio visual equipment, and an ambitious indoor gardening area.
A Place for Kids
GID took special care in implementing a safe place for children to explore their imaginations. The 4,600 square-foot children’s playroom was designed by the award-winning Roto Group—known for designing children’s museums, science centers, zoos and aquariums throughout the country. According to Waterline’s press release, the playroom was designed to “[take] children on a fictional and fun journey around the world to Stonehenge, on safari in Africa, to the Egyptian pyramids, surfing in Australia, to the islands of Hawaii and beyond. The vibrant space is complete with a slide, boat and safari car, plus an attached children’s party room that can be reserved for private events.”
A Place for Pets, Too
Pets are a part of the family, and they are treated as such at the Waterline Club, which offers an indoor playroom, washing and grooming stations, and a training studio.
Leisure and Social Amenities
At the center of the club is a luxurious three-story space that connects each of the areas previously mentioned. Concurrent with the waterfront location, the social hub was largely inspired by a boat’s wooden hull, and was crafted by Maine-based yacht builders from Hewes & Company. The New York-based metal and glass fabrication firm Jaroff Design also played a key role in bringing the space to life.
Accompanying the main social hub is a party room for private social gatherings, a game lounge complete with a pool table, a cards parlor and lounge, and a catering kitchen.
The new club is a welcome addition to the lavish Waterline Square lifestyle. Each of the three buildings have their own amenities and social areas. There certainly is no shortage of things to do as a Waterline resident.
The Neighborhood
The Upper West Side of Manhattan is home to some of New York’s most iconic spaces, including the Metropolitan Opera and the American Museum of Natural History. A brand new park bordering the Hudson River sits beneath the Waterline club, just steps away from the residential buildings. The beautiful Riverside South Park and Hudson River Park are also within walking distance, and Central Park is just four blocks away.
People looking to live in the new complex have the option to buy or rent. Apartments for rent range from $2.4 million for one-bedrooms, up to $17 million for the four bedroom, 4,134 square-foot suite. Apartments for rent range from $4,000 a month for studios, up to $17,000 for three bedrooms.
