Celebrity chef and Food Network star Bobby Flay has found something to savor in the Los Angeles housing market, buying a fresh contemporary home in the Hollywood Hills for $7.6 million.

Designed by Los Angeles-based building firm Osklo, the milky white-hued contemporary home sits behind walls and gates on about a mile away from the Sunset Strip. Olive trees and hedges surround the nearly half-acre property, largely concealing the renovated house from its neighbors and the street.

Past an artistic front door, the roughly 5,800-square-foot opens to sparse, museum-like living spaces accented matte black-framed doors and windows. Stonework and pressure-treated concrete floors add another visual layer to the designer-done interiors.

A large expanse of glass in the entry hall looks into a center atrium holding a centenarian olive tree. Oversized glass walls in the living room opens to the atrium, bringing fresh air and natural light into the space. On an adjacent wall, a pair of dark floating bookshelves flank an unusual fireplace with Art Moderne notes.

The matte black details continue in the subdued kitchen, which incorporates a concrete-topped island. Across from the kitchen and living room, ribboned marble slaps create a stunning backdrop for a wet bar. A dining area enclosed on two sides by bi-folding walls of glass completes the common area.

There are four bedrooms and five bathrooms, including a primary suite with a walk-in closet and skylight-topped bath.

Outside, manicured grounds feature space for entertaining, lawn and a zero-edge swimming pool with a spa. A large cobblestone courtyard sits off the front.

The property was most recently priced at $7.995 million, records show. Tomer Fridman of Beverly Hills-based brokerage Hilton & Hyland, an exclusive member of Forbes Global Properties, was the listing agent.

Flay, 56, has won multiple Daytime Emmy Awards as host of the Food Network shows Bobby Flay’’s Barbecue Addiction and Boy Meets Grill with Bobby Flay. More recently, the New York-born chef has hosted the competition cooking show Beat Bobby Flay. This year, he and fellow chef Giada De Laurentiis starred in the hybrid travel-cooking series Bobby and Giada in Italy for the new streaming platform discovery+.
