Bedding is an instant way to makeover one of the most important rooms in your home. But, it can be more than decorative, bedding can also impact wellness. The right bedding can lull you to sleep, while the wrong bedding can keep you up at night.

In terms of general trends, textured bedding is in style now more than ever. From feminine ruched duvets to gender-neutral geometric prints, there are so many options. Here are some of the best picks of the season, with bedding for every type of sleeper.

Crane and Canopy

Crane and Canopy’s bedding is Okeo-Tex certified (so it isn’t manufactured with hazardous chemicals) and is very practically designed. For example, all the duvets have a discreet zipper, which makes it far less frustrating to close than standard buttons.

Another quality that makes this brand unique is that many of the styles are traditionally-inspired.

The Sutter White Duvet Set is one of Crane and Canopy’s most beautiful and versatile options. The textured white ruffles shine in any style bedroom. Undeniably comfortable, it’s made from 300 thread count long staple cotton. With a fresh and feminine feel, the ruching easily camouflages any wrinkles, so there should be no worries about leaving it in the dryer. Pair this duvet with any color sheets.

Frette

Frette is the first name in luxury Italian bedding design. While the brand’s look has been widely imitated, there is absolutely no substitute for the real thing. The newly launched Bold bedding line has an aptly named border on long-staple cotton sateen fabric. These fibers have a greater length than standard cotton, which makes them both softer and stronger. It’s available in eight different colors including black, chestnut, beige and turquoise.

Sateen has a touch that is similar to satin, woven with one yarn under and three yarns over, giving it a soft, silky feel with a bit of a sheen. It’s also naturally wrinkle-resistant, which is perfect for everyone who likes to wrap themselves up with a top sheet.

Frette’s bedding has a luxury finish and a weight that’s unique to the brand. It can make any bed feel as if it belongs in a five-star hotel.

Sferra

The Tenora Collection by Sferra is undeniably sophisticated. While so many prints are bold, the subtleness of the flower print on herringbone extra long staple percale is truly unique. The color variations give it a hand-painted, almost floating appearance. A double stitched hem is yet another example of the thought that Sferra puts into the detailed design of this luxurious bedding.

Ideal for warmer sleepers, percale cotton has a cool, light feel to it. It is breathable and gets softer with every wash.

Allswell

Allswell, which is best known for their super comfortable mattresses, launched a new luxury bedding line this week. Arlyn Davich, President of Allswell, which is owned by Walmart, tells me, “Our new bedding collections covers the basics and beyond, with a major focus on style. But what further distinguishes them is the attention to detail that makes them true luxury products at a very non-luxurious price.”

The duvets, in particular, were designed to solve a problem that many people encounter with this type of bedding, Davich explains, “The insert’s four-corner loop-tie allows you to secure it to the duvet cover on all sides, so things don’t shift around at night.”

In addition to organic bedding, the new launch includes throws, towels and robes.

Brooklinen

Brooklinen offers a lot of luxury for a great price. One of their most notable offerings is their linen line, which has a casual, gender-neutral look that you won’t find in other materials.

Linen’s texture, unlike other textiles, gives it a warm, lived-in vibe. If you find plain cotton to be uninteresting, but prints to be over the top, linen may be the perfect happy medium. Brooklinen’s linen is made from 100% French and Belgian flax seed.

The brand’s hardcore bundle set has a fitted sheet, flat sheet, four pillowcases, and a duvet. There are fifteen options in a variety of colors as well as two different kinds of stripes. Colors and styles can be mixed and matched within a set.

Another bonus —you also don’t need to wash Brooklinen bedding before using it for the first time.

Parachute

Parachute just launched a collaboration with the ever-chic fashion line A.L.C. The limited-edition the A.L.C. X Parachute capsule collection features several pairs of silk pajamas as well as silk back envelope pillowcases in both white and blush colors.

Silk is a worthwhile luxury for anyone who wants better skin and hair. While cotton is soft, it absorbs moisture, while silk help retain it. This material is also cooling, which is a draw for hot sleepers.

The brand has core sets in percale, sateen and linen. Parachute offers a full range of sizes from Twin and Twin Extra Long to California King sized. Bundles are available with or without a top sheet.

CB2

CB2 has beautiful washed velvet duvets perfect for fall. Available in both grey and mauve, velvet has a Hollywood glamour look and is great for keeping warm on chilly nights. Pillow shams complete the look.

Velvet is so soft and comfortable. It has a rich texture that’s completely different from other fabrics, instantly upgrading any bed. Pair this duvet with a grey or oatmeal faux fur throw.

Coyuchi

If sustainability and having an ethically made product is what you need to sleep at night, then Coyuchi bedding will help you rest easy. Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, the 100% organic pima sateen sheets have a 500 thread count. Woven from superfine single yarns, these sheets are both soft and durable. With a warm feel, they’re ideal for those who sleep on the cooler side.

This bedding also has less of an environmental impact compared to conventional cotton sheets, saving both “1791 days of drinking water” and “eight days of driving emissions,” according to Coyuchi’s website.

Two colors are available, alpine white and fog, which is a neutral grey.

Room and Board

For those who don’t want a heavy blanket or prefer sleeping with a top sheet only, a coverlet will look and feel just right. It can also be great for a guest room.

Room and Board’s Freda coverlet is available in both white and charcoal with matching shams. Made of 100% terry fabric in Maine, it has a textured geometric pattern, inspired by mid century modern styles.

Hästens

Hästens has lots of satin bedding choices from solids to prints. This shiny, silky fabric feels cool to the touch, making it ideal for hot sleepers who like luxury.

Daisy Iris by Lars Nilsson has a hand-drawn check print that’s colorful, fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously, except for being seriously comfortable. Duvets and pillowcases are available. Pair it with a solid color sheet.
