Chicago’s most expensive residential rental property is set to make its real estate market debut June 28 when LEVEL Furnished Living, a division of Onni Group, will list the two-story penthouse for an envy-inducing $45,000 a month.
The sprawling three-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath penthouse is perched on the 31st and 32nd floors of Onni’s luxury building, Old Town Park, on Chicago’s North Side. With nearly 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, the fully furnished penthouse will be available for immediate move-in on July 1.
Penthouses, by definition, are luxurious, but listing agent Emily Santos of @properties says this apartment is extraordinary not only for Chicago but the Midwest.
“The LEVEL penthouse is absolutely remarkable,” said Santos. “There is not another apartment on the market in Chicago, nor probably in the Midwest, that offers this combination of space, design, amenities and sheer beauty. Each room features the most coveted design elements, and the outdoor space is an unbelievable addition to an already extraordinary home with iconic views of Chicago in every direction.”
Santos says she could see a professional athlete or business executive living in the penthouse. But why would someone who could have their pick of multimillion-dollar houses rent a penthouse? “Clients at this level relocate a lot or need shorter-term housing,” Santos explained. “They may not want to buy in Chicago or they may already own several homes.”
Designed by Vancouver-based Kreel Creative Design Consultants, the penthouse features luxurious finishes, hardwood and stone tile flooring, plus floor-to-ceiling windows that offer 360-degree views of Lake Michigan and the city’s skyline.
The well-appointed residence has an in-home elevator and floating staircase that lead to a private 3,540-square-foot outdoor oasis. The rooftop terrace showcases an assortment of lavish amenities, including a swimming pool, hot tub, fire pit, spacious lounge areas, multiple dining spaces and an outdoor shower, bar and kitchen.
Javier Cepeda, LEVEL’s regional vice president of sales, said the luxury space presents “a one-of-a-kind experience with an incredible location, unrivaled views, stunning features and finishes, and world-class amenities all paired with the renowned hospitality-style service of LEVEL.”
He added that the newest addition to the developer’s growing penthouse collection offers “the ultimate private retreat for someone who enjoys entertaining, and appreciates this unmatched attention to quality and detail.”
The gourmet chef’s kitchen, which is next to a full-size catering kitchen, features custom flat-panel cabinets, a large entertainment island, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances and natural quartzite waterfall countertops. A formal dining room and living room with a porcelain stone-clad fireplace adjoin oversized sliding doors that open to an expansive main-level terrace that’s perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing.
The main floor also includes a den, family room and raised entertainment lounge, complete with a full-size dual-temperature wine fridge. The master suite boasts premium oak hardwood flooring, a spacious walk-in closet and a separate dressing room with custom millwork organizers. The master en suite features floor-to-ceiling travertine stone tile, a floating vanity with double sinks, polished marble stone countertops, a free-standing soaking tub and an open-concept shower overlooking Lake Michigan.
Onni Group chief of staff Duncan Wlodarczak said, “Onni is excited to continue expanding our portfolio of luxury and hospitality brands in one of North America’s best cities. After successful launches in Vancouver, Toronto, and Los Angeles, we are thrilled to be able to bring our first-in-class luxury product to the city of Chicago.”
Residents of the penthouse also will be able to enjoy access to the building’s 8th-floor amenities, including a professionally equipped fitness center, sports lounge, spa and basketball court. The building is within walking distance of retail, restaurants and nightlife in the Old Town, Gold Coast and River North neighborhoods.
