Romantic duo Alex Rodriguez, of Yankees fame and #97 on Forbes’ Highest Paid Athletes, and Jennifer Lopez, mogul of music, film and #53 on Forbes Celebrity 100, have listed their 3 bed, 4.5 bath condo at 432 Park—the tallest residential building in the Western hemisphere. It could be considered the tallest building—residential or otherwise—in New York city because only One World Trade Center is higher, but only thanks to its spire that makes it taller on a technicality. If we’re talking about spaces that can accommodate more than a passing pigeon, then 432 Park reigns supreme. 

Designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly, and developed by CIM Group and Macklowe Properties, the building reaches 1,396 feet, almost 150 feet taller than the Empire State Building. The 104 units in the building started at an asking price of $7 million up to the penthouse purchased for $87,660,898 by Saudi Arabian billionaire Fawaz AlHokair. AlHokair has been on the Forbes Billionaires list, but recently dropped off due to ambiguity over which assets he still owns after his bank accounts were frozen in a massive crackdown on corruption.

Rodriguez and Lopez bought the 4,000 square foot unit on the 36th floor of the 96-story building a little over a year ago for $15,316,715, down from its asking price of $17.5 million. Ever the business savvy pair, they have re-listed the unit for its original asking price as of last week, according to the New York Post that first reported the news. A source told the publication, “They love the building, but when their kids are all together, it’s too small. They need something bigger for the family.”  The listing is with Adam D. Modlin of the Modlin Group.

Residents reach the half floor unit by this private elevator, with a sleek lacquered jet black finish. The elevators are built to travel faster than most, with the trip from the ground floor to the penthouse taking merely sixty seconds in total. This unit is not quite halfway up the building so is barely a blip of an elevator ride when it is time to come home.

The 432 Park building is known for its luxury amenities package, such as the 75 foot indoor pool, full service concierge, board room, gym and yoga studio, screening room and private resident restaurant which offers in-home dining. Community fees are almost as steep as the building itself, with this unit requiring $8,331 per month as part of the deal.
