Two of the listing agents for the former Spelling manor that broke California price records when it sold recently for $119 million are back with one of the largest homes ever built in Hollywood Hills and it could be a potential record breaker for the neighborhood. James Harris and David Parnes from The Agency, who also happen to star in the television show "Million Dollar Listing LA", are the agents for this 20,000 square foot new construction home designed by South Africa based-SAOTA. Currently it is a private listing and images here have been provided exclusively to Forbes.
The largest Hollywood Hills house sold on public record is a 13,290 square foot home that sold last July for $12.1 million and currently the next-largest home listed for sale is a 10,573 square foot house asking $15.9 million. However, this high-end neighborhood is known for having many private listings, including this very property, so it is very possible homes even larger than this 20,000 square foot have traded hands off market. As price trends go, the most expensive sale for the neighborhood is a $39 million home that sold to Jho Low, the guy connected to the 1MDB scandal that has gone under the radar. That 13,156 square foot house is now a court-owned asset and is on the market for $24.5 million.
The five-bed, nine-bath house follows the current design trend of stacking elongated rectangular rooms atop each other with large seamless windows to frame the views of the city. Large roof overhangs also allow for expansive living spaces that feel like they’re outside but are protected from the hot sun.
Pictured below is the 163-foot long infinity pool with an outdoor screen that rises up and can tilt in several directions so you can watch from one of the upper levels, including the 5,000 square foot rooftop deck.
Here’s a view that shows the intricate woodwork on the ceiling, which is a nice design touch to tie together the elongated feel of the rooms.
The glass throughout the house cost about one million dollars due to it being one of the thinnest residential glass products on the market.
The inner core of the house has this two-story waterfall, or rain curtain, that connects to water from the infinity pool up above.
