Actor Neil Patrick Harris Lists Harlem Brownstone For $7.3 Million

Actor Neil Patrick Harris and husband, David Burtka, have officially listed their beautiful Harlem brownstone for $7.3 million.

Located on 2036 Fifth Avenue between 125th and 126th streets, the Italianate-style home was heavily renovated by the couple in 2016 by Los Angeles-based interior designer Trace Lehnhoff and New York award-winning architect Jeffrey Povero. The couple brought us into their home for an Architectural Digest profile in 2016.

“Those who know me realize I’m allergic to cookie-cutter, white-box homes,” Compass real estate broker Vickey Barron exclusively tells Forbes. “This home has tremendous soul. the results of the renovation are exceptional, and the couple’s taste transcends category.”

The single-family, 8,000-square-foot home was built in 1908 and has five bedrooms (which includes a library/den that can be converted into the fifth bedroom) and 6.5 bathrooms. The 20-foot-wide townhouse retains beautifully restored original woodwork, millwork and molding, plus soaring 12-foot ceilings.

The light-filled, five-story home was restored to be more conducive to a single-family residence and has quite a storied history. The building was once a bed and breakfast, speakeasy for millworkers and a music school for girls.

Upon entering the home, there is original dark-wood wainscoting and a spacious central hallway that leads to the heart of the home. The stunning kitchen features beautiful cabinetry, a generous island, shelving for books, as well as a connected 500-square-foot terrace through sliding glass doors. There are state-of-the-art appliances, like a Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer and two side-by-side Wolf ranges. The kitchen also has a wine refrigerator and oversized pantry.
